Keycards are a type of Uncategorized Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale, that are used to open Vaults at a specific location. They were first introduced in Chapter 2: Season 2.
Functionality
Keycards are used to open Vaults situated at specific locations. Only the allocated Keycard will open a specific vault. Simply having a Keycard in the inventory when interacting with its designated vault will open it.
Keycards take up a slot in the Player's inventory. If held, they ping the location of the vault with a three-dimensional arrow in front of the player, every few seconds.

Trivia
- The Yacht Keycard after Deadpool's release was the only Keycard that could've been obtained twice in a single match until the introduction of Highcards in Chapter 4: Season 2, whom could spawn with the Vault Keycard in 3 places at once.
- The Agency and Yacht Keycards are not present in Fortnite: Creative as they reuse the same icons as the Fortilla Keycard.
- The Fortilla Keycard was prioritised because the Agency Keycard got converted into The Authority Keycard. This can be confirmed by looking at their Item Ids.
- The Vault Keycard is the only Keycard to be in three identical copies, dropped by several bosses and not to have the name of a POI.
- The Forecast Tower Access Key is the only Keycard to last more than one season in a row, lasting four seasons in Chapter 5.
- Medallions functioned almost identically to Keycards in Chapter 5: Season 1 and Chapter 5: Season 3.
- Keycards have the most reskins out of all the items in the game.
- There is an unused SHADOW Keycard added in Update v12.00 that was later redesigned into the Authority Keycard in the following season.
- It's possible that the Keycards of each agent's location would also have changed to reflect their alignment based on the most chosen style by the players.
